The Project Linus chapter in Winston-Salem serves Forsyth County, providing new, handmade, washable blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or in need. Local Involvement & Guidelines

• Blanket Types Accepted: The chapter accepts homemade quilts, tied fleece blankets, knitted, or crocheted blankets in various sizes (from small baby blankets to teen twin sizes). 

• Safety & Quality Standards: Blankets must be clean, high quality, and strictly free from smoke, pet hair, strong chemical smells, or pins. Holiday-themed fabrics (such as Christmas or Halloween) are generally not accepted by hospitals.

• Community Events: Local libraries and community groups in Winston-Salem—such as the Forsyth County Public Library—frequently host volunteer blanket-making workshops and service sessions.  Our Winston location hosts events as well. Please check our calendar for upcoming events.
