THE BIG STITCH
I have not always loved handwork but after custom clothing design and now the Big Stitch, everything changed! This is similar work used in Sashiko, but not the same. Come learn a simple handwork technique that will allow you some relaxation and creativity. We will see lots of examples of where to use this work, learn all the tools needed and work on a project so you will be able get started on some small projects, wall hangings, table runners or mug rugs. I will have a kit with some fabric sandwiches to get you started or, if you prefer, bring 2 – 14-inch sandwiches of fabric, batting and backing to create a sample. I use Perle Cotton #8 and thicker needles with large eyes like a quilting needle #5-7. We will have some supplies and I will bring my Perle Cotton. Also bring scissors, your favorite thimble and a quilting hoop if you like. Hope to see you there!!
