What is Sashiko?
Sashiko is a type of needlework that uses a long running stitch to form geometric patterns. It is believed to have originated in Japan and the earliest use of this method was to reinforce clothing in order to make them hard wearing as well as provide warmth. Sashiko is mostly handwork but can be done by machine!
