Description: This class combines two techniques, paper piecing and rope basket construction, to create something special for Valentine’s Day. In the morning part of the class, you will learn basic paper piecing techniques as you construct a heart for the bottom of the basket. Patterns will be provided that I designed in Electric Quilt 8 (which I will demonstrate for you). Some will be printed on foundation paper that you can stitch through and some will be printed on freezer paper so you can learn both techniques for paper piecing. In the afternoon, we will construct the base of a rope basket, attach the paper pieced heart to the bottom of the basket and then construct the sides. We will do some fabric wrapping of the rope and explore some different finishes for the end of the rope.
